Do you need help with your account? Maybe you're having trouble with opening or printing? Read through our comprehensive support guide below!

If you can't find a solution to your problem here, you can send an email to customer support. Email support is provided 8:30-3:30 (central) Monday through Friday – we think you can find a solution below, though!

Hi, I’m Sara, The Responsive Counselor! I’m a former school-based therapist and school counselor who now has the privilege of serving thousands of children and educators across the globe through my work online.

You can read more about me here.

My mission in this shop is to provide counseling and SEL resources that:

  • Utilize research-based best practices
  • Include diverse  representation in clipart, character names, and scenarios
  • Balance student voice with teacher/counselor voice
  • Provide options for scaffolding and differentiation to promote equity and equal access to the ideas and skills
  • Incorporate opportunities for movement, social skills practice, and cooperative work

Creating an Account

This store requires you to create an account in order to purchase things. This allows you to access your resources whenever you need by logging in and re-downloading.

Password or Email Troubles

There’s a “Lost Password” link on the login page you can use. If you type in your email and get an error that your email address doesn’t exist, then most likely you used a different email when you created your account OR you accidentally typed it in wrong. If that’s the case, please reach out to support and we will help you get it sorted out!

How can I pay?

This webstore accepts payments through Stripe (a software program that allows buyers to pay with a credit card).

I want to edit this to better fit my needs.

For many reasons, including protecting our work and following clip artists’ terms of use, resources sold here are not editable unless they explicitly say so. If you have a suggestion for an edit to a resource that you think would make it better for everyone, you can let us know here.

Can I share this with my colleague?

Resources are licensed for one person unless they explicitly say they are licensed for a school. If you think a fellow counselor or teacher would love it, please send them the link so they can purchase it for themselves.

Sometimes, though, it might be appropriate for you to share a piece of a resource as part of doing your job. For example, if you’re a school counselor and you used a resource as a class lesson, you might leave behind a poster or some task cards for the teacher to use to reinforce. You should not ever share an entire resource with someone. Please email if you ever have questions about terms of use!

I need a refund.

Due to the nature of digital resources, refunds are only offered in very rare circumstances. We have done everything we can to make sure resources are accurately represented through descriptions, images, previews, and notes about compatibility. If you believe there is something wrong with your resource (after using this page to troubleshoot) or that it was misrepresented, please reach out to us here.

I can’t find the resource I bought.

After you complete your purchase, you will see an order received page. This will have grey buttons on it that you can click to download the resource(s).

You will also receive an email confirming your purchase with a link to download. Sometimes though, the email might end up in spam or promotions or be otherwise tricky to find.

And finally, you can always access all of your purchases to download them by heading to the MY ACCOUNT –> DOWNLOADS page on this website. If you’re not already logged in, you’ll need to log in in order to see your things!

I can’t find the Google Slides™ that are supposed to be included.

Your download includes at least one PDF. The link to access the Google Slides™ part of the resource will be on the 2nd or 3rd page of this PDF. It will be in blue text or might be a picture of a computer for you to click.

I’m having trouble opening it.

A lot of the resources from The Responsive Counselor have multiple pieces and are combined together in a zip folder. Your first step after you download it is to unzip it and extract the files. Sometimes, you can simply double click a zipped folder to open it up and see what is inside. Then you can drag and drop the files wherever you want them to live on your computer. If that doesn’t work, try right clicking the folder and selecting “extract all.”

Another issue with opening a file or folder would be if you’re trying to do so on your phone or tablet. These resources are meant to be used on computers, so we recommend downloading and opening them from there.

The resource(s) isn’t downloading.

Usually when this happens, it is because it is a large file and your internet connection isn’t strong enough/fast enough. We recommend trying again when you have a better connection. You might also try downloading from another browser, and/or closing out other programs (or tabs!) using your bandwidth.

My printer won’t let me print the resource.

Are you submitting the resource online to a printing company and asking for only certain pages to be printed? You might need to separate the page(s) yourself first. Open the file, go to print, type in the page(s) you want, and then in the dropdown where you pick a printer. Select “Print to PDF” and then click Print. This will create a new document with just the pages you want.

You can also upload (or submit in person) this printing rights form. Sometimes printing companies won’t let you print a password protected or copyrighted document without proof of purchase or printing rights.

It’s not printing right.

Make sure that you are opening the PDF file in a PDF reader (like Adobe Acrobat) and printing from there. Sometimes PDFs don’t print correctly when printed directly from the browser or from Preview on Macs.

You also want to make sure that if the file was part of a zipped folder that you have extracted it from there first (moved it out of the folder) before printing.

What is it?

Bundles are when multiple resources are sold together at a discount. We have several bundles on our website already but we know that you might have some specific resources in mind that you would like to buy together.

How is it helpful?

“Build Your Own Bundle” allows YOU to pick ten or more individual resources and get 25% off (!!!) when you buy them together.

How do I get it?

This discount is applied automatically in your cart when you have 10 or more items added. If any of those items is a bundle already, the 25% off BYOB discount is taken off the individual prices of the resources inside it.

You earn reward points whenever you shop on The Responsive Counselor. For each dollar you spend, you earn one point! You also earn 10 points just for creating an account.

You can then redeem these points you earn on future purchases. For every 15 reward points you earn, you get $1 off!
