Attendance Small Group Counseling Curriculum

Attendance matters! And one way to support students with attendance concerns is through attendance small group counseling to focus on the things inside their control when it comes to being present at school. This expedition-themed resource is an eight-session group full of interactive activities to help kids feel good about coming to school.

• It’s research-based! We examined peer reviewed journal articles to better understand the barriers elementary children have to attendance, and incorporated that into the sessions.
• While lunch is usually not an ideal time for group counseling, it is likely the best time for students with attendance struggles. This group curriculum was designed to be delivered during lunchtime, with minimal mess.
