Description
Want to help your kindergarteners and first graders learn how to show they care about others? This resource is a developmentally appropriate set of caring activities to help them: think about how others are feeling and how they can help, and how to show someone you care when they’re sharing something exciting. It’s research-based social-emotional learning created specifically with primary students in mind.
Use these activities in one longer caring lesson, one or two shorter lessons, or spread out in shorter bursts for a weeklong skills focus using the included pacing guide. Designed for teachers delivering SEL in their classrooms or school counselors teaching guidance lessons.
It is ASCA-aligned and CASEL-aligned! While created to use for whole group lessons, it is also wonderful for tier 2/small group counseling or social skills intervention.
Resource Includes:
- Short story to engage your learners
- Movement-based whole group activity to check for understanding
- Hands-on small group practice activity
- Closing circle questions
- Extension activity
- Poster/coloring pages
- Recommended book companions
