Description
Want to help your kindergarteners and first graders learn how to share and take turns? This resource is a developmentally appropriate set of sharing and taking turns activities to help them: wait patiently, ask for a turn, and share both things and talk time. It’s research-based social-emotional learning created specifically with primary students in mind.
Use these activities in one longer sharing and taking turns lesson, one or two shorter lessons, or spread out in shorter bursts for a weeklong skills focus using the included pacing guide. Designed for teachers delivering SEL in their classrooms or school counselors teaching guidance lessons.
It is ASCA-aligned and CASEL-aligned! While created to use for whole group lessons, it is also wonderful for tier 2/small group counseling or social skills intervention.
Resource Includes:
- Short story to engage your learners
- Movement-based whole group activity to check for understanding
- Hands-on small group practice activity
- Closing circle questions
- Extension activity
- Poster/coloring pages
