Description
Conflict resolution is always an important skill for students to learn, practice, and review. This pirate themed escape room is an engaging lesson that works with small groups or whole classes. Students complete four challenges to convince the pirate captain to let them free – either by finding the treasure or finding the secret message!
•Peaceful vs. not-so-peaceful choice sort (with visuals)
•Short scenarios with fill-in-the-blanks for conflict resolution strategy used
•Puzzles for practicing I-statements/I-messages
Students also have to use other social skills when working with their teams/groups, making this a extra impactful lesson. This escape room is designed for a 45 minute classroom lesson or a 30-35 minute small group session. It was created with 2nd and 3rd grade in mind, though I know second semester 1st graders would rock this as well and it would be a great fit for 4th graders in small group counseling.
