Making Friends Lesson and Including Others Activities

Students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades often need explicit help navigating how to make friends and include others! This Making Friends lesson uses a friendship recipe to teach them the skills they need:

1. Finding people they want to be friends with
2. Asking to join in
3. Including others
4. Having fun!

It’s a super low-prep lesson that doesn’t require independent reading/writing skills (though a worksheet is included for those who have them) and instead incorporates meaningful whole-group practice activities throughout the lesson.
