Our time (and our students’ time) is limited! Mapping your curriculum out allows you to be intentional with the lessons you choose to deliver. Curriculum maps are also wonderful to share with your administration (especially for observations) and with parents. This resource also includes examples of different themes and lessons you can use, making your job easier. Themes or units in lessons also lead to higher impact with your students as they provide the needed repetition for things to “stick” with our kiddos.
It’s helpful to begin drafting a curriculum map in the spring before the year ends when the needs of your students are fresh in your mind. You can then edit it once you have needs assessment data in. Easy to upload into Google Drive to collaborate with a co-counselor as needed.
***All text is editable (ex. These maps include August-May, but you can change them to be September-June if you start later).Â

What others are saying...
“This is a very helpful tool when it comes to organizing the counseling curriculum! I love the different options and the theme ideas.”
“THANK YOU for this resource! I felt very lacking in the curricular aspects of school counseling when I started, which was not only stressful but becoming a true issue with trying to meet ASCA standards and create a comprehensive plan on my district’s timeline. This has helped me be intentional in my planning, communicate clearly with my principal, and get myself organized instead of flying by the seat of my pants so frequently on lessons.”
“This is a great resource to help you organize your lessons. I really enjoyed the multiple layouts since I can use it for different grade levels, buildings, and subjects in my district that is organized in attendance centers.”
